The impact and influence parents have on their children, particularly teenagers, is often underestimated.   Many parents we interviewed in recent focus groups expressed feelings of frustration and helplessness and a sense that their teenage children tuned them out.   In fact, research shows that no other single message affects a child more than one delivered by his or her parent.

In this fast-paced, sound-byte world where we all try to make the most effective use of the little leisure time we have, we wanted to do something that would help ease parents' frustration and arm them with strategies to help their children succeed in school.

Visit the Parents Count website for monthly messages.

More than 200 employers and organizations will communicate MBRT's parent messages and promote the parent website to their employees and members - representing several hundred thousand parents across the state.

If you would like to receive the Parents Count monthly messages via e-mail or fax, simply e-mail us and let us know.  We distribute each month's message in four different formats (100-word article, 400-word article, sample e-mail message and fact sheet), making it simple for you to choose which way you will then distribute the information to your members/employees/etc.

We have available two posters advertising the site. Please feel free to request as many as you need. Simply e-mail us at mail@mbrt.org. Please be sure to specify how many of each poster you would like and a complete mailing address where they should be shipped.
