MBRT
Wins PRSA's "Silver Anvil Award"
New
York, NY
--- The Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT), with
its public relations firm, Stanton
Communications, Inc., has won Public Relations Society of America’s
(PRSA) prestigious Silver Anvil Award for its “Achievement Counts”
program.
Known as the “Academy Awards” of the public relations profession,
the Silver Anvil is awarded to organizations that have successfully
addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill,
creativity and resourcefulness. The national award recognizes outstanding
strategic public relations planning and implementation.
“Achievement Counts” is MBRT’s comprehensive, statewide campaign
that demonstrates the important connection between achievement in
school and success in the workplace and in life. Mobilizing parents,
teachers, and businesses to motivate students to achieve academic
success, Achievement Counts engages students in career exploration
while showing them that hard work in school pays off.
The program continues this fall and new volunteer speakers are welcome
(www.mbrt.org/speak).
Launched in 1999, Achievement Counts includes Maryland Scholars
(www.mbrt.org/scholars),
providing students with compelling information about the need for
rigorous coursework, a speaker's bureau (www.mbrt.org/speak),
a teen career website (www.bewhatiwanttobe.com),
and a webpage providing parent information to help children succeed
in school (www.mbrt.org/parents).
